What is CertPulse and how does it work? +
CertPulse monitors your SSL/TLS certificates automatically. Add your domain, and we check it every 6 hours — alerting you by email before expiry so you never face a surprise outage. No software to install, no agents to manage.
How early will I be alerted before a certificate expires? +
You choose. CertPulse supports alerts at 60, 30, 14, 7, 3, and 1 day(s) before expiry. You can enable multiple thresholds and add different email contacts for each certificate — for example, notify DevOps at 30 days and your manager at 7 days.
Is there a free plan? What are the limits? +
Yes — the Free plan lets you monitor up to 3 certificates with no credit card required. When you need more, our Starter plan covers up to 10 certificates, and Pro gives you unlimited monitoring with team access, API, and advanced features.
Do I need to install anything on my server? +
No. CertPulse is entirely cloud-based. Just enter your domain and port — we handle all the monitoring from our infrastructure. For internal or private certificates not reachable from the internet, you can use our lightweight agent.
Can I monitor certificates on non-standard ports? +
Yes. CertPulse supports any TLS-enabled port — 443 (HTTPS), 8443, 465 (SMTP), 993 (IMAP), 636 (LDAPS), or any custom port your services use. Simply specify the port when adding a certificate.
How do I invite my team? +
Go to Settings → Team inside your dashboard and enter your colleague's email address. They'll receive an invitation link to join your organisation's account. Team access is available on the Pro and Enterprise plans.
What happens if a certificate expires — will monitoring stop? +
No — monitoring continues even after expiry. CertPulse will mark the certificate as Expired and keep checking, so you'll know the moment a replacement is issued. You'll also receive an urgent expiry alert on the day it expires.
Is my data secure? Do you store certificate private keys? +
CertPulse never stores or requests your private keys. We only read the public certificate information available from your server's TLS handshake — the same data any browser can see. All data is encrypted in transit and at rest.
